Bio

Jeff has been teaching and performing professionally for over a decade. He enjoys teaching and specializes in woodwinds, jazz improvisation, and theory.

Some of his past students have gone on to win prestigious soloist awards, achieve top seats in classical and jazz all-state festivals, and attend well respected universities for musical studies.

Jeff has a M.A. in Music with an Emphasis in Jazz Studies.

Fun Fact:

Jeff has two Chihuahua mixes. Isla and Carmen.

Bio

Born and raised in the sunny southwest town of El Paso, Texas, Andrew Gomez has been playing saxophone for over 25 years!

Pursuing his passion of music and education, he received his bachelor’s in Music Education with a certificate of Jazz studies from Texas Tech University and then headed up north to complete his Master’s In Music Performance at the University of Wyoming.

Drew has had the privilege of performing all across the country from New York, to New Orleans, Oregon, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Georgia, Kansas, New Mexico, all across Texas and Wyoming and now the beautiful state of Colorful Colorado!

When not out performing music with as many great Musicians as he can, Drew teaches middle and high school Band, Choir, and Orchestra down in Highlands Ranch.

Drew also enjoys long walks on the beach, cooking, biking, dancing, and the occasional video game!

Drew used to be Co-CEO of a company.

Bio

Tom is a Denver native that started playing tenor sax in elementary school band. His learning progressed into early college and he then took a long break to raise his 3 sons and run his business. Tom met Jeff Miguel in 2018 and resumed his saxophone training.

Tom currently plays alto sax with Jeff’s student saxophone ensemble and tenor with his quintet. The quintet also performs under the name Shmenge’s Revenge, specializing in Oktoberfest performances. Additionally Tom plays tenor sax with the Denver Metro Jazz big band.

Fun Fact:

Tom is a Denver native with 3 grown sons and a step daughter who have blessed him with 4 wonderful grandkids.

Teaching Philosophy:

Tom believes that lessons should be low pressure and encouraging, focusing on progress and not on mistakes. Additionally, every attempt will be made to keep lessons fun and make music even at the earliest levels.

Jami Bhatti has been playing saxophone since 2003 and holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Illinois State University. Throughout her musical career, she has performed in a variety of ensembles and settings, including classical groups, jazz ensembles and rock bands. This diverse performance background allows her to help students develop strong fundamentals while exploring the styles of music that inspire them most.

Jami believes that every student can learn and enjoy music when instruction is tailored to their individual strengths, interests and goals. Whether a student is picking up the saxophone for the first time, preparing for school band auditions, building improvisation skills or simply playing for enjoyment, she strives to create lessons that are engaging, supportive and rewarding.

In addition to her music background, Jami is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Her professional experience teaching and supporting learners of all ages has given her a strong understanding of how people acquire new skills, stay motivated and build confidence. She incorporates these principles into her lessons by breaking complex skills into manageable steps, adapting instruction to each student's learning style and celebrating progress along the way.

Jami's goal is not only to help students become better saxophonists, but also to foster confidence, creativity, independence and a lifelong appreciation for music.

Fun Fact:

I've learned as a goalkeeper that getting hit by a soccer ball hurts slightly more than playing a wrong note.

Teaching Philosophy:

I believe that successful music instruction begins with understanding the individual student. Every learner brings unique strengths, interests, goals, and experiences to the lesson environment. My role as an instructor is to create a supportive and engaging atmosphere where students feel comfortable taking risks, making mistakes, and growing as musicians. By combining strong musical foundations with personalized instruction, I strive to help students develop technical skills, confidence, creativity, and a genuine love of music that extends beyond the lesson room. Music should be both challenging and enjoyable, and I aim to help each student discover their own meaningful connection to it.
